Fran Fontana
Fran was born and raised in Evanston, Illinois where she lived until she went to college at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa Fran moved to the Denver area and attended law school at the University of Denver, College of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate Degree in March of 1987.
Admitted to practice in the State of Colorado since October of 1987 Fran has concentrated her practice in the area of family law since that time. Fontana & Associates, P.C. was formed in October of 2003 after the dissolution of her long time partnership of Quade, Fontana & Bonin, P.C.
Fran has previously served as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association; Chair of the Metropolitan Volunteer Lawyers Governing Board; President of the Colorado State Interdisciplinary Committee; President of the Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee; and a member of the Executive Council of the Family Law Section. In June of 2001, Ms. Fontana was awarded the Charles B. Dillon Award for Outstanding Public Service by the Arapahoe County Bar Association and in April of 2009 she was a Barristers Benefit Ball Honoree in recognition of her volunteer work with Metro Volunteer Lawyers.
At the present time, Fran serves on the Peer Professionalism Assistance Committee (formerly the Metropolitan Conciliation Panel of the Denver Bar Association); The Supreme Court Standing Committee on Family Issues; is a member of the Family Court Task Force; and is a member of the following professional organizations: The Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, Arapahoe County Bar Association, Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Women's Bar Association; Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee, The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the Colorado Chapter of the AFCC.
Fran has been included in The Best Lawyers in America for Family Law since 2006, and has been one of Colorado Super Lawyers each year since 2006 as well.
Fran lives in Littleton, Colorado with her husband of 27 years, and their two children, ages 17 and 15.
Sarah Quinlan
Sarah has been with Fontana & Associates, P.C. as an associate since 2003 where she has limited her practice to family law, including family law appeals. Sarah was previously with Quade, Fontana & Bonin, P.C. where she also practiced family law.
Sarah was born and raised in Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Sarah left New England to come to Colorado in 1997 and received her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Denver College of Law, in 2000.
Sarah serves on the board of the Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee (MDIC) and is a past co-chair of the Young Lawyers Committee for the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. Sarah volunteers for Project Safeguard by participating in their pro se divorce clinic and also participates in Metropolitan Volunteer Lawyers program by taking pro bono cases. In addition, she was a co-chair of the June 2007 CLE entitled "How to Handle and Try a Domestic Relations Case", was on the planning committee for the October 2008 seminar "Alienation: What Can We Do" presented by Nancy Olesen and was a co-chair of the October 2009 CLE "Family Law Update."
